Meet a Board Member: Jodi Hendrickson!
Meet Jodi Hendrickson, a financial advisor at Edward Jones and one of the chamber's Board of Directors and past president! Learn all about Jodi here in this blog!
1. Can you share a bit about your background and how you first got involved with our organization?
I have lived in the community for almost 30 years and volunteering has always been a passion. When a former board member was retiring from her job, I was asked to finish her term and kept on going. I have enjoyed the time I've been involved with the chamber and watching the changes and growth.
2. Beyond your role on the board, what are your personal and professional passions?
As I mentioned, volunteering is a big love of mine. As a Financial Advisor in our community, I can do that by sharing the importance of education and planning by leading classes, workshops and seminars. I am a huge ally for diversity equity and inclusion and am not afraid to share. (just ask my family and friends) 🥰
3. What inspired you to join the board, and what motivates you to contribute to our organization's success?
My thought is we can all complain about our community – no matter where you are from, but by doing so how are fixing or helping correct anything. By being involved, you make a difference.
4. Do you have a favorite memory or accomplishment during your time on the board?
My favorite part of the board is meeting new people ALL THE TIME! Whether it's new board members, new ambassadors, new business owners, or people at the various events.
5. What advice would you give to someone considering joining the board or getting more involved in community service?
Just get out and do it. Volunteering and being involved can take as much or as little time as you have available. It is so rewarding and helps you grow as a person both professionally and personally.
6. Share a fun or interesting fact about yourself that most people might not know.
I really am a homebody by nature. I love people but I also love sitting quietly and reading books. Lots and lots of books.
